Crystal Palace Confirm Eddie Nketiah Out for Season After Recurring Hamstring Injury
Eddie Nketiah is set for a prolonged spell on the sidelines after being ruled out for the remainder of the season, with the injury also expected to end any hopes of featuring at the upcoming World Cup.
The Crystal Palace F.C. striker has been struggling with a recurring hamstring problem and has not played since the 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on December 28. The latest setback marks his fourth hamstring injury of the campaign.
Manager Oliver Glasner confirmed the situation, revealing the news came suddenly after late medical advice from the club’s staff, effectively ending his season.
“For Eddie, unfortunately, it’s the end to the season,” Glanser said. “This (news) came yesterday evening (Wednesday). The doctor called me at nine in the evening when I was watching the Champions League games, so it’s really brand new.
