Crystal Palace are set to extend the contract of Liverpool and Newcastle's transfer target
In the summer transfer window, Crystal Palace managed to fend off Liverpool and Newcastle's intentions to take their leader, but Oliver Glasner's team want to re-assure themselves against further encroachments on the player.
According to Football Insider, the London club are set to extend their partnership with defender Marc Guehi, who they managed to keep in the team following the summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old defender's contract runs until the summer of 2026, but the centre-back will continue to be considered a significant part of the project being built at Selhurst Park. Therefore, Crystal Palace are ready to offer Guehi a new, long-term agreement.
Earlier, Glasner himself stated that the defender himself did not show a desire to leave the London team, and the deal for his sale to Newcastle collapsed because of the financial demands that Crystal Palace put forward.
