Cruz Azul’s Willer Ditta to Miss First Liguilla Match Against León

Cruz Azul will begin the Clausura 2025 playoffs without key defender Willer Ditta. As reported by TUDN, the Colombian center-back will miss the first leg against León due to suspension after receiving his fifth yellow card during the final weekend of the regular season.
Ditta, who initially joined under Ricardo Ferretti and has since thrived under Martín Anselmi and Vicente Sánchez, has become a cornerstone in the backline. His absence will be felt as Cruz Azul travels to León for the opening match of the quarterfinals.
Adding to the news surrounding Ditta, he was recently involved in a minor car accident on Mexico City’s second-level Periférico. TUDN confirmed there were no indications of alcohol involvement, and the player did not suffer any injuries. The club provided immediate support, and Ditta remains in good physical condition and focused on the upcoming fixtures.
While no physical harm came to the defender, the crash caused concern after some passengers in the other vehicle sustained minor injuries, though none were serious.
Despite the incident, Ditta will be eligible to return for the second leg, which will be played at Ciudad Universitaria, where Cruz Azul aims to secure a spot in the semifinals of the Liga MX Clausura tournament.
