The second round of the UEFA Euro 2024 group stage will open with a Group B match between Croatia and Albania.

Both teams lost their opening matches at the tournament: the "chequered" suffered a devastating defeat to Spain 0:3, while the "eagles" failed to keep the winning score in the game with Italy and lost to the reigning European champions 1:2.

During the pre-match press conference, Croatian midfielder Lovro Mayer spoke about the atmosphere in the team after such a painful defeat:

"I wouldn't say much has changed. We were all angry and sad after the game, but that's part of sport. We've all been in these situations a million times. For us it's the end of the story, the laughter in the locker room, everything. We are focused on Albania, there are no calculations here, we only want to win, we have to give our best to achieve the goal."

On the Albanian side, defender Mario Mitaj spoke to the press and here's how he put it about the upcoming opponent:

"We have forgotten the match with Italy and the ennui they had from that match. Now we are preparing as much as possible, analysing the opponent. We will take to the pitch with the same identity. I hope we will play better and get the points."

The press service of the Albanian federation notes that all players are preparing for the match, which is not the case with the Croatian team.

The local federation reported that at the tournament through a muscle injury will not play Nikola Vlasic, and he will leave the location of "chequered".
