Signing a new central defender was a top priority for Al-Nassr this summer. Previously, it was reported that the Saudi club was very close to acquiring Milan Škriniar from PSG, but that deal fell through.

According to Nicolo Schira, Škriniar decided to remain in European football, despite Luis Enrique not counting on him. However, Al-Nassr quickly found an alternative to the Slovak defender.

As reported by RMC Sport, Al-Nassr has agreed on the transfer of RB Leipzig's central defender Mohamed Simakan. The club's owners will pay €45 million for his transfer.

The 24-year-old Frenchman has already agreed to the move, and an official announcement is expected soon.

Simakan joined RB Leipzig from Strasbourg in the summer of 2021 for €15 million. Last season, he played 32 matches and scored 2 goals.
