‘Cristiano Ronaldo called me to congratulate me on winning the Africa Cup of Nations trophy,’ Sadio Mane

Sadio Mane received congratulations from his club teammate Cristiano Ronaldo after Senegal's victory in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. The Portuguese player, who plays alongside the Senegalese at Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, was not indifferent to his teammate's continental success.

In a statement the day after the Lions of Teranga's victory over host country Morocco, Sadio Mane revealed that he had received congratulations from Ronaldo. ‘Cristiano Ronaldo called me to congratulate me on winning the Africa Cup of Nations trophy. He told me he watched the whole final,’ said the Senegalese striker.
