Cristiano Ronaldo continues to engage in a wide array of events and projects, both within football and beyond. Now, he has taken to his social media channels to announce that he will serve as an ambassador for the Esports World Cup.

The Portuguese superstar shared an official post, accompanied by an explanatory caption.

“I’m proud to join the Esports World Cup as Global Ambassador - standing with esports athletes who rise above and inspire the next generation.”

It’s worth noting that the Esports World Cup (EWC) is an annual series of international esports tournaments organized by the non-profit Esports World Cup Foundation. It is widely regarded as the world’s largest professional esports event. The tournament’s budget for 2025 is set at $70 million.

The championship is held every year from July to August in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. With Cristiano Ronaldo—who is the star of local club Al-Nassr—joining as an ambassador, the tournament gains an exceptional new highlight.
