Lionel Messi's salary at the American club has been revealed.
Details: Inter Miami owner Jorge Mas officially confirmed in an interview with Bloomberg that Messi’s total compensation amounts to between $70 and $80 million per year. This figure includes his base salary, additional compensation, and an equity stake in the club, which will allow the Argentine to become a co-owner of the franchise after his playing career ends.
Despite his advanced age, Messi signed a new three-year contract last year, keeping him in Miami at least until his 40th birthday. To afford such payments to Leo and other stars—Luis Suárez and Rodrigo De Paul—the club has developed a unique business model. According to Mas, 55% of the club’s revenue comes from sponsorship and commercial deals, while income from TV broadcasting accounts for a modest 2%.
"I pay Messi every cent he deserves," Mas stated, emphasizing that the club aims to compete with European giants, not just its American league rivals.
It’s worth noting that in 2025, Inter Miami’s valuation soared by 22%, reaching $1.45 billion, making it the most valuable club in MLS history.
Reminder: It was reported that Ronaldo’s visit to the White House attracted a bigger live audience than Lionel Messi’s visit.
