Désiré Doué continues to turn European finals into his own personal stage.

Details: In PSG's victorious clash against Aston Villa, the French winger delivered both a goal and an assist. Doué set up Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for Paris' opening strike, then netted the match-winner himself in the 61st minute—securing a 2-1 triumph. Unsurprisingly, he was named Man of the Match for his performance.

With this display, Doué repeated a rare feat: he became the first player since 2015 to both score and assist in a UEFA Super Cup match. The last to accomplish this was Luis Suárez for Barcelona in a wild final against Sevilla.

But here's an even more incredible twist: both Suárez in 2015 and Doué in 2026 managed a goal and an assist against teams led by Unai Emery. Back then, the Spaniard was at the helm of Sevilla; now, he suffered another Super Cup defeat with Aston Villa.

For Emery, this marks a fourth defeat in as many UEFA Super Cup appearances—the Spanish tactician has yet to claim this elusive trophy.

Reminder: PSG crowned 2026 UEFA Super Cup champions.
