Matchweek 11 in the Canadian Premier League brought goals, drama, and celebration coast to coast, as Atlético Ottawa held firm at the top while York United surged upward and Pacific FC’s struggles deepened. As reported by CanPL.ca, the weekend was part of the league’s “One Year Out” festivities marking the countdown to the 2026 World Cup in Canada.

Saturday kicked off in Halifax, where Tiago Coimbra gave the Wanderers an early lead before Caniggia Elva equalized for Cavalry in a 1-1 draw. Both clubs remain deadlocked at 18 points, with eyes on the top spots.

Later, York United came alive in the second half to stun Pacific FC. After Aly Ndom opened the scoring for the visitors, York responded with three goals to secure a comeback win—breaking a year-long streak of losses after conceding first.

Forge FC handled Vancouver 2-0 on Sunday, and in doing so, set a CPL record: 10 games unbeaten to start the season, surpassing Atlético Ottawa’s 2024 run.

Still, Ottawa stays four points clear. They cruised past Valour 3-0 with a pre-halftime penalty and two second-half goals, maintaining their perfect home record under Diego Mejía’s steady leadership.

Pacific, winless in a month, remain frustrated and face a daunting trip to Cavalry next. Meanwhile, next Sunday’s York vs. Ottawa showdown promises fireworks.
