Coventry City head coach Frank Lampard has confirmed that Frank Onyeka is ready to make his debut for the club following his recent arrival.

The Nigeria international completed a loan move from Brentford to the Sky Bet Championship side on transfer deadline day during the winter window. However, Onyeka was unavailable for Coventry City’s home draw against Oxford United last weekend after being granted compassionate leave. The midfielder welcomed a new baby with his wife, an occasion that kept him away from matchday duties.

Speaking ahead of Monday’s fixture, Lampard confirmed Onyeka’s availability and expressed satisfaction with his return to training.

“Yeah, he’s ready to go,” Lampard said. “He had a couple of days off, had the baby on Sunday/Monday, so yeah, he’s training with us. It’s good to have a little bit of training time for him before we start to look at the game on Monday.”
