Real Madrid have begun extensive work on shaping their goalkeeping department for the long term.

Details: According to Ekrem Konur, the Spanish giants have developed a concrete interest in Toulouse's 21-year-old French goalkeeper Guillaume Restes. Los Blancos' recruitment department is exploring potential scenarios in the event of a future departure for Thibaut Courtois.

The talented goalkeeper is one of several options on Madrid's shortlist, alongside Arsenal's David Raya and Porto's Diogo Costa. Restes' assured performances between the posts and composure with the ball at his feet have made him one of the most prominent figures on the transfer market.

Madrid will face stiff competition in the race for the Frenchman. Bayern Munich, Aston Villa, Lille and Olympique Marseille are also closely monitoring developments surrounding Restes.

Toulouse are well aware of the scale of interest from Europe's top clubs, but intend to keep their first-choice goalkeeper until the summer.

It is worth noting that Guillaume Restes has been Toulouse's first-choice goalkeeper since 2023 and regularly represents France at youth level, having won a silver medal at the Olympic Games in Paris. The authoritative Transfermarkt portal values the 21-year-old goalkeeper's current market value at €18 million.
