"Couldn't make the dream come true" – João Pedro comments on missing out on Brazil's World Cup squad

João promises to work even harder.

Details: After it was revealed that Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti left 24-year-old Chelsea forward João Pedro out of the final World Cup squad, the player addressed fans with an emotional message.

Pedro admitted he was deeply disappointed, but vowed not to give up:

“I've always given my all. Unfortunately, I couldn't make this dream come true – representing my country at the World Cup.

I'm staying calm and focused, as I always try to do... Joy and disappointment are both part of football.

From this moment on, I wish the best of luck to everyone who made the squad, and I'll just be another fan cheering them on to bring home that sixth World Cup title.” João Pedro wrote on his Instagram.

This season, João Pedro played 49 matches for Chelsea, scoring 20 goals and providing 9 assists, but it still wasn't enough to convince Carlo Ancelotti.
