Coton Sport and Canon Yaoundé knocked out of the Cameroon Cup
Beaten by lower-division opponents
The two Elite One clubs were knocked out in the round of 64.
It’s all over for Coton Sport and Canon Yaoundé in the 2026 Cameroon Cup. Despite playing in the top flight of Cameroonian football, neither side was able to get the better of their lower-division opponents.
Canon Yaoundé, who faced Piment de Bayangam at the Melong Municipal Stadium, were held to a 1–1 draw at the end of normal time. The two sides had to go to a penalty shoot-out to decide the winner. However, it was Piment de Bayangam who emerged victorious in the shoot-out, winning 3–2.
Meanwhile, Coton Sport lost 4–2 to Foudre d’Akonolinga at the Bertoua Municipal Stadium. David Pagou’s side were unable to live up to their status as favourites.
