The South African national rugby team defeated Italy for the second time in eight days. A week ago, the reigning world champions secured a 42-24 victory. While the margin wasn't overwhelming, several key Springboks players took the field that day.
Today, the Springboks once again dominated the first half, although Manie Libbok missed two conversion attempts. Midway through the opening period, Jasper Wiese was shown a straight red card for a dangerous foul.
In the second half, the South Africans widened the gap even further, cruising to a resounding 45-0 win. Notably, the last time the Springboks kept a clean sheet was at the 2023 World Cup against Romania.
On another note, Willie le Roux earned his 100th cap for South Africa.
Looking ahead, the Springboks are set to play again in just a week. On July 19, they'll face Georgia.
