Controversial Olympic champion Iman Khelif appeared in a campaign video for Donald Trump
Controversial boxer Iman Khelif appeared in one of Donald Trump's latest campaign videos ahead of the presidential election.
With only a few days left before the end of voting, the former president addressed Americans with a final appeal, criticizing the current administration. In this criticism of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, Khelif is also mentioned, having been at the center of heated debates during this summer’s Olympic Games.
The Algerian boxer won gold in the women’s welterweight category under contentious circumstances, despite ongoing doubts about her gender, as she was excluded from last year’s World Championship after failing gender verification tests.
In the video, which claims that "everything we hold dear has collapsed" under the Biden-Harris administration, Trump’s campaign showcases footage of Khelif’s raised hand at the Olympics. The narrator then states, "Men can beat women and win medals."
Trump has previously criticized Khelif amid controversies regarding her participation in women’s boxing at the Olympics. In a recent interview on The Undertaker’s Six Feet Under podcast, Trump repeatedly referred to Khelif as a "man" after WWE legend The Undertaker argued that "protecting" women’s sports from transgender athletes is one of his main priorities in the upcoming election.
