Conte reveals Lukaku turned down EPL offers to join Napoli

It’s no secret that some players have favorite coaches they’re willing to follow wherever they go. Such is the case with striker Romelu Lukaku—at least according to Napoli’s head coach, Antonio Conte.

Details: Conte shared that Lukaku had offers from English Premier League clubs, where he previously played, but opted to wait for a proposal from the Neapolitan club, which he eagerly accepted.

Quote: “Lukaku declined offers from EPL clubs to wait for us and join Napoli in August. He was very eager to work with us again, which is fantastic. He’s a great guy and a top player,” Conte was quoted by Metro.

Reminder: Conte ranks second in the number of games managed with Lukaku on his team. Under Conte’s guidance at Inter and Napoli, Lukaku has scored 68 goals and provided 22 assists across 104 matches—his best record with any coach.
