Conte effect: Napoli close to extending Kvaratskhelia's contract
Napoli and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia are on the verge of reaching an agreement to extend the Georgian forward's contract. After prolonged negotiations, both parties seem to have finally made significant progress.
Details. According to Corriere dello Sport, talks between Kvaratskhelia's representatives and Napoli have resumed, with both sides reportedly agreeing on terms for a new contract. The deal includes a significant salary increase, performance bonuses, and a buyout clause.
The report also highlights that former Napoli defender Cristian Zaccardo acted as a mediator during the negotiations. Additionally, the presence of Antonio Conte as head coach played a positive role in securing the agreement.
Context. Discussions over Kvaratskhelia's contract extension had stalled last summer when the forward rejected Napoli's initial offer. However, with Conte's arrival and the team's impressive form, currently sitting at the top of Serie A, the situation has shifted in the club's favor.
