Things won't be easy for Pakistan either.
Details: Today, it was announced that the ICC has thoroughly reviewed the situation regarding Pakistan's boycott of the T20 Cricket World Cup in India and has taken decisive disciplinary action.
Despite the Pakistanis raising concerns about their team's safety while in India, the ICC has ruled:
- A complete ban on the Pakistan national team from participating in the tournament.
- Withholding of the annual ICC revenue payment.
- The PCB will be required to pay full compensation to Jio-Star for lost revenue.
- Sanctions affecting bilateral series, impact on WTC points, and ICC rankings.
- A ban on all foreign players (except free agents) from participating in the PSL.
Later, in addition to the Pakistan team, Bangladesh also announced their intention to boycott.
The T20 Cricket World Cup will be held in Sri Lanka and India from February 7 to March 8, 2026.
