The former UFC champion is challenging the jury’s decision, which found him guilty in a civil case involving an alleged assault on Nikita Ní Lamháin, also known as Nikita Hand.
The incident in question dates back to December 2018, following a Christmas party. Hand claimed that McGregor engaged in non-consensual sex with her and also subjected her to physical violence.
After legal proceedings, the jury ruled in favor of the plaintiff, ordering McGregor to pay $250,000 in damages.
McGregor, however, has denied any wrongdoing. Just hours after the verdict, he took to X to declare his intention to fight for his reputation and confirm his plans to appeal. He acknowledged having a sexual encounter with Hand but insisted that it was consensual. He also publicly apologized to his longtime partner, Dee Devlin, for infidelity.
Devlin has since come out in support of McGregor, stating that she believes him and considers Hand to be lying.
