Confirmed. West Ham has formalised the signing of a world champion
London West Ham has announced the signing of Real Betis defensive midfielder Guido Rodriguez. The transfer happened as a free agent, as his contract with the Andalusian club expired at the beginning of July.
It remains unknown how long the 30-year-old midfielder will stay in the camp of the "Hammers", as the press service did not report it.
As a member of the Argentine national team, Rodriguez became the 2022 World Cup champion, as well as a two-time winner of the Copa América.
He played for Real Betis for four and a half years, where he moved from Mexican America. For the Andalusian club, he played in 173 matches, in which he scored nine goals and gave four assists.
Rodriguez's transfer was the sixth in the summer transfer window. Earlier, West Ham signed defender Max Kilman, as well as strikers Cricencio Summerville, Niclas Füllkrug and Luis Guilherme.
