The English Premier League will have at least five representatives in the most prestigious European club tournament in history next season.

After Arsenal's victory over Real Madrid in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals (3-0), England secured the top spot in the UEFA rankings for the current season. This means the association will receive an additional spot in the tournament for the next season.

England, as one of the leaders in the UEFA rankings, is guaranteed four spots, which are awarded to the top four teams at the end of each EPL season. In the fall of 2025, they will be joined by the club finishing fifth in the table.

Interestingly, this is not the maximum limit England can achieve. If Aston Villa or Arsenal do not qualify for the Champions League through the Premier League but win the tournament this season, they will also play in the UEFA Champions League next fall.

A similar situation applies to Manchester United and Tottenham if either club manages to win the UEFA Europa League. As known, the winner of this tournament also receives an automatic berth in the main stage of the UEFA Champions League.

Thus, England could still secure a quota for 7 clubs.
