Confirmed: SuperSport United have been sold to Bloemfontein Celtic owner Lee Warren

The saga of the sale of SuperSport United is close to its conclusion, as the winner of a closed auction process is known.

Details: SuperSport United, in their statement, have announced that the auction procedure is closed and the winner is Siwelele FC. Club bosses said that the decision aligns with their strategic shift to focus on their core broadcasting business.

Meanwhile, the deal is yet to be agreed upon with the Premier Soccer League. They need to give their approval. Then, the club, which will be led by Calvin le John, will relocate to Bloemfontein for the new season and operate under the new name Siwelele FC. The sale price has not been disclosed by the officials, but unofficial sources have revealed the sum of R50 million.

Reminder: Siwelele FC, which was previously named Bloemfontein Celtic, withdrew from the SAFA Second Division last season.
