Concerns over Ismaïla Sarr ahead of the international break
The Senegalese winger is suffering from a groin injury and his return to action is expected after the November international break.
Ismaïla Sarr will miss Crystal Palace’s Premier League trip to Tottenham on 31 October. Eagles head coach Pierre Sage has confirmed that the Senegal international is unavailable. “At the moment, he is not fit to play.”
Ismaïla Sarr’s return is now expected after the next international break. This absence is yet another blow for the player, who has struggled to get his season off to a flying start with Crystal Palace.
The Senegalese player’s injury comes just a few weeks before the Senegal national team’s next training camp. The Lions of Teranga are due to play the third and fourth matchdays of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in November.
Ismaïla Sarr’s participation in these matches is therefore uncertain. Manager Patrick Vieira may be forced to reassess his attacking options for these two fixtures.
The Senegalese coaching staff will therefore monitor the winger’s recovery before making a decision regarding his availability for the next training camp.
