Conceição reports on Mike Maignan's condition after injury
AC Milan's head coach, Sérgio Conceição, has shared updated information about goalkeeper Mike Maignan, who was hospitalized following a collision with teammate Alex Jiménez, which temporarily knocked Maignan unconscious.
Maignan underwent examinations in the hospital after being stretchered off the field in the match against Udinese, which Milan won with a resounding 4-0 scoreline. The goalkeeper was briefly unconscious after colliding with Giménez in the second half. The game was immediately halted, and the medical team quickly provided assistance, placing the goalkeeper in a stable position and transporting him to the hospital.
Milan player Tammy Abraham was so concerned about Maignan's condition that he fell to his knees and began to pray for him. Sérgio Conceição expressed gratitude to the Udinese fans, who applauded the goalkeeper as he was taken off the field. He noted that such gestures, directed not only at a player but also at a person, hold special significance. According to Conceição, in his 40-year career in football, such acts are extremely rare.
Maignan's condition is stable, and he remains in the hospital for further examinations. The French goalkeeper's teammates also offered their support. Christian Pulisic noted that the most important thing is that Maignan is okay, while Rafael Leão added that the victory was dedicated to their teammate. Defender Matteo Gabbia reported that the team's doctor confirmed Maignan is feeling well.
