Colombian Defender Juan Quintana Out for Season with ACL Injury

Pacific FC have confirmed that Colombian centre-back Juan Quintana will miss the remainder of the 2025 season after suffering a torn ACL. The 21-year-old sustained the injury during the club’s Canadian Championship match against Vancouver FC on May 5.
Quintana joined Pacific last season from Colombia and has since made 22 appearances for the Tridents, becoming a key figure in the backline. Head coach James Merriman acknowledged the gravity of the loss: “These injuries have a significant impact on our squad. Juan is part of our Pacific family, and we’ll greatly miss his presence on and off the pitch.”
Despite the setback, Quintana remains under club option through 2026, giving Pacific confidence in his long-term recovery and return. His injury leaves a notable gap in a defensive unit that had found stability with him at its core, posing a tough challenge for Merriman and his staff as they navigate the rest of the CPL season.
