Colombia Names 26-Player Squad for Key World Cup Qualifiers Against Peru and Argentina


Colombia has announced its 26-man roster for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers in June, with head coach Néstor Lorenzo mixing experienced veterans with emerging talent. David Ospina, James Rodríguez, Juan Fernando Quintero, and Yerry Mina return to the national team, while promising players like Luis Díaz, Gustavo Puerta, and Jhon Jáder Durán are also included.
As reported by El Colombiano, the squad began training in Guarne and will move to Barranquilla on May 31 for their home match against Peru. The team is scheduled to travel to Buenos Aires on June 8 to prepare for the match against Argentina. Several domestic league standouts were also called up, such as Andrés Román, Marino Hinestroza, and Kevin Mier, underlining the coaching staff’s appreciation of local performance.
The list includes several players active in Europe, including Daniel Muñoz (Crystal Palace), Jefferson Lerma (Crystal Palace), Richard Ríos (Palmeiras), and Camilo Vargas (Atlas).
