Coco Gauff earns an astonishing €28 m in a year, remains the world's highest-paid female athlete
World No. 3 Coco Gauff has retained her title as the highest-paid female athlete for the second consecutive year, according to a report by Sportico. The tennis star earned an impressive €28.7 million in 2024, cementing her status as a financial powerhouse in the sports world.
Interestingly, the majority of Gauff's income did not come from tournament winnings. She amassed only €8.9 million in prize money, while the remaining €19.8 million came from lucrative endorsement deals with major brands.
Chinese freestyle skier Eileen Gu ranked second on the list with a yearly income of €20.9 million. Despite being a two-time Olympic champion from Beijing, Gu’s earnings from prize money totaled a mere €58,600, with the bulk of her income coming from sponsorships.
Polish tennis player Iga Świątek claimed the third spot, earning €20.2 million in 2024. Notably, Świątek faced a 30-day suspension earlier this year due to a failed doping test, but her earnings remained robust, driven by her achievements and endorsements.
