Coach Hossam Hassan Rests Star Player Salah Ahead of Cape Verde and Botswana Matches
Egypt’s national team, led by head coach Hossam Hassan, has announced its squad for the November international break, set to face Cape Verde and Botswana in the final rounds of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. With Egypt already qualified, sitting atop Group C with 12 points, Hassan has opted to rest star player Mohamed Salah and defender Mohamed Abdelmonem.
The squad includes three overseas-based players—Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet,” Omar Marmoush, and Mostafa Mohamed—as well as four new faces: Taher Mohamed Taher, Hossam Abdelmaged, Mohamed Rabie, and Mahmoud Zalaka, marking their first call-up under Hassan’s leadership.
