Botafogo’s run in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup is already proving more lucrative than their 2024 Brasileirão championship. According to Terra, the Rio-based club has earned approximately R$146.8 million from the tournament—surpassing the financial reward from last year’s league title.

Despite a narrow 1–0 loss to Atlético Madrid, Botafogo advanced to the Round of 16 as group runners-up alongside PSG. They received US$15.2 million for participation, US$7.5 million for reaching the knockouts, and an additional US$4 million from wins over Seattle Sounders and PSG.

On Saturday, Botafogo will face Palmeiras in Philadelphia, with a spot in the quarterfinals and another US$13.12 million (R$73.4 million) on the line. If they win, total earnings could surpass R$200 million.

However, midfielder Gregore will miss the match due to yellow card accumulation. Barboza, Joaquín Correa, and Cuiabano are also at risk of suspension, as two yellows trigger a ban until the quarterfinals, when cards are reset.
