Closer to a return? Ajax hold talks with Erik ten Hag
Ajax suffered a 0–3 defeat to Galatasaray in the fourth round of the UEFA Champions League and remain without a single point after four matches. A managerial change now seems increasingly likely.
Details: According to AD.nl, Ajax’s management have held a meeting with former head coach Erik ten Hag, who is currently without a club.
Ten Hag previously managed Ajax from 2018 to 2022, guiding the Amsterdam side to a UEFA Champions League semifinal and multiple league titles. In the summer of 2025, he took charge of Bayer Leverkusen but was dismissed after just a few matches.
This dramatic twist could prove decisive not only for Ten Hag himself but also for the club: the return of the man who laid the foundations for Ajax’s recent success might restore confidence and stability within the team.
Reminder: In the fourth round of the UEFA Champions League, Barcelona played out a thrilling 3–3 draw with Club Brugge — a match that marked yet another milestone for Lamine Yamal.
