CIES Highlights Five Rising Stars as Paraguay’s Most Valuable Young Talents

The International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) has released a new report assessing emerging football markets across the globe. Paraguay was among the countries analyzed, with the study focusing on player age, game time in both domestic and international tournaments, and long-term potential.
At the top of the list is Olimpia’s left winger Iván Leguizamón, born in 2002, whose estimated transfer value ranges between $7 and $9 million. His recent rise and consistent first-team presence make him the most valuable talent in Paraguayan football today.
In second place is Diego León, an 18-year-old from Cerro Porteño who has already been signed by Manchester United. Though his move is confirmed, CIES still values him between $4.2 and $5.3 million, underscoring his high profile and early promise.
The list is completed by Rodrigo Villalba (Libertad), Tiago Caballero (Nacional), and Diego Fernández, currently playing for Guaraní but owned by Olimpia. All five represent a new generation of Paraguayan footballers gaining exposure and drawing international attention as potential exports to top leagues around the world.
