Chukwueze Earns Praise After Match-Winning Assist
Former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood has applauded Samuel Chukwueze for his crucial role in Fulham’s 1-0 victory over Sunderland at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
Chukwueze, on loan from AC Milan, came on in the 64th minute and immediately troubled Sunderland’s defence down the right. His biggest moment arrived in the 84th minute when he curled a perfectly weighted cross for Raúl Jiménez to score the only goal of the match. Sherwood, speaking on Sky Sports, said, “I don't see the pass but Chukwueze did… he curled the ball beautifully in behind the defence for Jimenez to finish.”
Despite a slow start to his Premier League spell, the 26-year-old is beginning to settle. He now has two assists in seven appearances, totalling just 132 minutes, without yet starting a league game.
