The Cameroonian striker returned from the international break with a left thigh injury.

Christian Kofane will not be playing for Bayer Leverkusen in the coming weeks. He has not recovered from the injury he sustained on the first matchday of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

On 24 September in Garoua, he was forced to leave the pitch at half-time during Cameroon’s 3-1 victory over the Comoros. This injury subsequently forced him to withdraw from the second matchday fixture against the Congo.

Although he had resumed training with the national team ahead of the friendly against Côte d’Ivoire on 3 October, he was not yet in peak physical condition. Back at his club, he will be sidelined for several weeks due to this muscle injury.
