Chivas will be able to play in front of their fans after all. The highly anticipated match against Cruz Azul for Matchday 13 of the Clausura 2025 will now be held at Estadio Jalisco, with fans in attendance, after a last-minute change of venue approved by Liga MX.

Originally set to take place behind closed doors at Estadio Akron due to a stadium ban, Chivas submitted a formal request to relocate the match while maintaining its original date and time. The league accepted the request under Article 13 of the disciplinary regulations, requiring the implementation of enhanced security and operational measures.

“Liga BBVA MX granted the request from Club Deportivo Guadalajara to designate Estadio Jalisco as the venue, contingent upon meeting specific safety and logistical requirements,” the league announced in a statement.

Chivas confirmed the move and immediately launched ticket sales online, with in-person sales scheduled at the stadium on matchday.

The change brings a historic twist, as Estadio Jalisco was Chivas’ longtime home before their move to Akron. For fans, it’s a welcome chance to support their team in a crucial matchup against a strong Cruz Azul side.
