Chivas Sign Bryan 'Cotorro' González for Apertura 2025
Chivas de Guadalajara have officially announced the signing of Bryan 'Cotorro' González as part of their preparations for the Apertura 2025 tournament. The talented winger joins from Pachuca and is expected to inject pace and creativity into the left flank, a position left vacant after Mateo Chávez’s move to the Dutch league.
González, 22, rose through the ranks at Pachuca and recently impressed at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, scoring a memorable free-kick goal against Salzburg. His international performance and ability to play both as a winger and an attacking full-back make him a strategic fit for Chivas' style.
He becomes the club’s fourth confirmed signing for the upcoming season, following Efraín Álvarez, Richard Ledezma, and Diego Campillo, who is already training with the team. During his unveiling, González shared his excitement: “When they told me about Chivas, it really moved me. My family supports this club, and I’ll give everything on the field.”
This move reinforces Chivas' long-standing philosophy of investing in young Mexican talent, as the club seeks a return to the top of Liga MX.
