Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem and FC Nantes have officially been relegated to Ligue 2, bringing an end to the club’s 13-year stay in France’s top division.
Nantes’ relegation was confirmed following a disappointing 1–0 away defeat in their final attempt to secure survival in Ligue 1. Despite battling to avoid the drop in the closing stages of the season, the result sealed their fate and condemned the club to second-tier football next season.
