Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has made a late defensive change ahead of their upcoming friendly tournament in Turkey, with Chibuike Nwaiwu stepping in to replace the injured Calvin Bassey.
Bassey was ruled out on Wednesday after suffering a back injury, leaving the squad short at the heart of defense with only three recognized center-backs available for the fixtures against Iran and Jordan.
In response, head coach Eric Chelle has Trabzonspor defender Nwaiwu receive his first ever called up to the Super Eagles to strengthen the backline. The move has been confirmed by the team, ensuring the Super Eagles head into the friendly game with adequate defensive cover.
