Chelsea has bolstered its midfield while also investing in the future by securing the transfer of young Saint-Étienne talent Mathis Amougou.
Details: According to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins, 19-year-old Amougou has completed a move to Chelsea. The Blues will pay €12.4 million for the midfielder, who is set to undergo a medical and sign a long-term contract. He may remain with the first team until the end of the season.
Fabrizio Romano added that Amougou will immediately be integrated into Chelsea’s first-team squad. He is seen as a backup option for Enzo Fernández, Moisés Caicedo, and Roméo Lavia.
Meanwhile, in the summer of 2024, Chelsea signed João Félix, but the Portuguese forward failed to secure a starting spot and is now heading elsewhere. Félix joins Milan on loan.
Reminder: Christopher Nkunku will not leave Chelsea this winter. No club has met Chelsea’s financial demands, as the Blues were seeking €65 million for the French attacker.
