Following Enzo Maresca's departure, the club is on the hunt for a new head coach and has already zeroed in on who the management wants to see in the role.
Details: According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Liam Rosenior is among the very few contenders for the position of head coach at the London club. He is currently in charge of French side Strasbourg. The appointment of the new manager is expected to happen swiftly, though it's unlikely he will be in the dugout for the upcoming clash against Manchester City.
Reports suggest that Cesc Fabregas is not being considered as a candidate, nor is Roberto De Zerbi, despite the positive impression he made during the summer. The club is focused on appointing someone who can quickly stabilize results and keep the season on track across all four competitions, including the Premier League and the Champions League.
It's worth noting that Chelsea will face Manchester City in a Premier League Matchweek 20 showdown already this Sunday, January 4. Kick-off is set for 18:30 Central European Time.
Currently, the "Blues" sit fifth in the Premier League standings.
Reminder: Manchester United are interested in RB Leipzig winger Diomande.
