In the UEFA Conference League final, set for Wednesday, May 28, Chelsea will face off against Betis. Even before kick-off, the Londoners have already matched a truly rare feat.
Details: According to Opta, Chelsea's squad does not feature a single player over the age of 27. The oldest player in the team is Marc Cucurella, who is 26. Chelsea has become only the second club ever to reach a European final without any players aged 27 or older.
The last time this happened was in the 1978/79 season, when Red Star Belgrade fielded a young lineup in the UEFA Cup final against Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Incidentally, a video has surfaced online showing Betis and Chelsea fans clashing in a mass brawl on the eve of the Conference League final. Dozens of supporters were involved in the altercation.
