Chelsea make first transfer offer for Villarreal goalkeeper
Signing a new goalkeeper to compete with Robert Sánchez is one of Chelsea's top priorities in the transfer market this summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the London club has already initiated negotiations with Villarreal for the transfer of Danish goalkeeper Filip Jørgensen.
Chelsea has valued the 22-year-old keeper at €20 million. Villarreal has yet to respond and has taken time to consider the offer. Jørgensen is keen on joining Chelsea, so contract negotiations with him are expected to proceed smoothly.
Jørgensen is a product of Villarreal's academy. Last season, he broke into the first team, playing 36 matches in La Liga and conceding 63 goals.
It is worth noting that Chelsea finished last season's Premier League campaign in sixth place, but due to Manchester United's FA Cup victory, they will only participate in the Europa Conference League this season.
