Chelsea head coach is not afraid for his job, despite the team's disappointing results
In the current season, Chelsea hasn't displayed its finest performances. The "Pensioners" have secured only five victories in the Premier League, drawn four matches, and suffered seven losses, tallying up to a total of nineteen points, granting them the twelfth position on the table. However, the club's head coach, Mauricio Pochettino, remains composed amid this scenario, believing that his future within the London club isn't under threat.
Addressing his team's upcoming match against Sheffield United, taking place today, Pochettino stated:
"I'm a man who trusts until told otherwise. Just like at Tottenham. I trusted my chairman until the very end. I'm someone who always believes until someone shows me that I can't rely anymore. But I believe. I understand football; I know what football entails."
"My decision to sign the contract was based on the trust I had when offered this job. I will continue to rely on the club's leadership because they demonstrate their trust in my work."
Pochettino is under pressure to start accumulating maximum points in the Premier League. Chelsea's co-owner, Todd Boehly, has significantly invested in the club over his two-year tenure alongside Behdad Eghbali, supporting Pochettino with new players worth £435 million. Unfortunately for the owners, they are yet to witness the returns on their investments amidst a flurry of managerial changes.
