Chelsea's head coach Enzo Maresca has, for the first time, addressed the scandal surrounding Enzo Fernandez, who sang an offensive song about French footballers on the Argentine national team bus after their Copa America 2024 victory.

According to Maresca, there are no issues between him, the player, and the club, and there will not be any.

“I don't think there will be problems with Enzo Fernandez when he returns. There were no bad intentions, I spoke with Enzo. It's all clear now. It's all clarified by the player and the club, so that's it. Enzo has apologised, there's no problem at all”, – Maresca is quoted as saying.

It is worth noting that Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana posted a video of the song’s performance, accusing the participants of racism. Enzo has since been unfollowed by teammates Axel Disasi, Wesley Fofana, Malo Gusto, Christopher Nkunku, Lesley Ugochukwu, Malang Sarr, and Romeo Lavia.

Last season, Enzo Fernandez scored three goals and provided two assists in 28 Premier League matches.
