In the seventh round of the UEFA Champions League, Chelsea hosted Pafos at home and managed to secure a 1–0 victory. However, Cole Palmer was absent from the match, and the Blues’ head coach clarified the situation.

Details: According to Liam Rosenior at the post-match press conference, the decision was precautionary, as Cole had felt some discomfort after the previous game.

Quote: "It was purely precautionary. He felt a bit of discomfort, very, very minor, in the match against Brentford. But I have to give him credit — he played it through to the end," the Chelsea manager said.

After the win over Pafos, Chelsea moved up to eighth place in the UEFA Champions League standings. They now have 13 points after seven matches, and they will need to win their next game to secure direct qualification to the round of 16.

Reminder: It was also revealed after the match against Pafos why Chelsea made a goalkeeper substitution already at half-time.
