Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca was absent from the post-match interviews following the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth in the Premier League clash held Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge.
Details: According to TalkSport, Maresca’s absence was due to feeling unwell. Just before his scheduled media duties, the Blues’ boss became ill and was forced to withdraw from press obligations. Instead, assistant coach Willy Caballero faced the journalists’ questions.
“He hasn’t been feeling well for the last two days. Two days ago he had a fever. After the match he came into the dressing room and asked me to take his place because he was feeling unwell,” Caballero explained.
Asked whether Maresca will be in charge for the next match against Manchester City, Caballero gave an uncertain response:
“I don’t know. I just wish Enzo a speedy recovery. I think in a day or two he’ll be fine.”
It’s worth noting that Chelsea’s next match is away against Manchester City, followed by a derby with Fulham and an FA Cup away fixture against Charlton.
Reminder: Enzo Fernandez is set to make his 100th Premier League appearance for Chelsea.
