Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital have sparked outrage among fans after setting the ticket price for certain seats at the stadium for the April match against Manchester United. Seats behind the Chelsea technical area and with additional privileges will cost fans £5000.

By purchasing such a ticket, fans not only secure luxurious plush seats behind the technical area and the "pensioner's bench" but also gain a unique view of Mauricio Pochettino's tactics. Ticket holders will also have the opportunity to meet with players before they take the field, as well as enjoy the team's hospitality before and after the match.

The previous record for the most expensive ticket for a Premier League match belonged to Manchester United. Back then, entry to Old Trafford could be obtained for £4200. The top three in ticket prices is rounded out by West Ham United, which sold tickets to its match for £4000, but this package included a helicopter ride over London.

Dom Rosso, vice-chair of the Chelsea Supporters' Trust, described the £5000 ticket as "alarming," while officials from rival Premier League clubs expressed shock at the price.

"£5000 is an alarming amount to spend on a ticket, and it is completely unaffordable for your average football fan. It is truly concerning that these seats behind the reserve bench are filled with corporate visitors."
