Chelsea and Tottenham are discussing player exchanges
Tottenham is looking to bolster their midfield in January and has included Chelsea's Conor Gallagher on their shortlist. Discussions about a potential deal were held in the summer, but back then, Chelsea refrained from offering him due to his impressive performances and limited alternatives in the market.
Gallagher, continuing to shine under Mauricio Pochettino's guidance, is nearing the final 18 months of his contract. Chelsea is prepared to replace him with a new face to add more power in midfield. Spurs are willing to propose Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, a midfielder currently out of favor, in exchange for Gallagher. This increases the likelihood of a swap deal, as reported by Sky Sports.
Recent reports also indicate Juventus' interest in Højbjerg. However, the prospect of Højbjerg moving to Chelsea is deemed more realistic as a potential exchange deal could negate the need for acquiring a new player.
