Chelsea activates Sancho's buyout option... only to sell him immediately

Recently, a saga has been unfolding around the future of winger Jadon Sancho, and an unexpected twist seems to be brewing.

Details: According to Football Insider, Chelsea indeed intends to buy out Sancho's contract from Manchester United. However, the plan isn't to keep him in the team, but to... sell him right away.

It remains unknown whether Chelsea will be obliged to pay a penalty of five million pounds for opting out of the obligation to buy Sancho's contract if someone else purchases him directly from Manchester United.

Recall: Previously, it was reported that the winger is considering a return to Borussia Dortmund. However, it is still unknown if the "Bees" can afford this transfer, especially if they fail to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
