Chelle Confident Despite Bassey Ban

Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has downplayed concerns over Calvin Bassey’s absence before Nigeria’s AFCON match against Egypt. The Fulham defender is suspended after a yellow card in the semi-final loss to Morocco.

Chelle insisted the team can cope, saying, “Yes Calvin will not play this game… We are a group and each player will have the chance to show what they can do.” He added, “Yes, Calvin had a great AFCON… I have to find the best player for the team in this game.” on Saturday.
